Share the story behind your presence on Reddit.

During the lockdown, I installed Reddit while exploring new activities in my spare time. However, I couldn’t come up with any compelling ideas to use it at that time. It was only after 2.5 years that I revisited the platform, installed it again, and started to comprehend and learn how to use Reddit gradually.

In a country like Nepal, where social media is predominantly dominated by Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, I’m curious about your experience on Reddit, which is comparatively less popular here. I would love to hear your story and the reasons behind it.

Thank you!

  1. Been here since 2015 with 4-5 accounts over the time (delete and create a new to evade the digital trail). It’s a wonderful experience and can never be replaced by any.

  2. I was lonely, anxious and depressed. didnt have anyone to vent fucking things. One day i was felling so bad and i just installed ( before that i didn’t know anything about reddit). When i came hear everyone is anonymous. people venting their things and they were getting good suggestion on comment box then i also started to vent things and i started felling nicee now I don’t care about anyone ( friends and all) . i love this apps and somewhere i felling this apps making my social life wrost and im good with this at the same time everyone here is so knowledgeable and i feel too dump when i see people post and all.

  3. I joined Reddit simply for NoFap. For the first few months I only checked the r/NoFap sub and nothing else. Once I discovered other subs that I related to, like r/Nepal and r/Gunners, I became hooked. Nowadays I spend more time on Reddit than i would normally spend on Facebook, Instagram, heck even YouTube.
