Hate towards India is unjustified!

Hate towards India is unjustified!

I recently came across a Reddit post discussing people’s indiscriminate behavior towards tourists. Many mentioned Nepalis being rude and providing poor services to Indians. While I recognize the political tensions between India and Nepal, I believe it’s our politicians and their cowardly behaviors that contribute to the blame on India, rather than the country itself. Mistreating Indian tourists I think is wrong since they are also here contribute to our economy. Also, wishing India loses during a cricket match is equally unjust. We nepalis should look inward and realize our hate towards india and Indians is no good.

  1. No hate towards Indians but their activities are infuriating. Some random Indian guy wanted me to exchange his IC with NPR and I refused and he got mad and said some inaudible shit and left. I also saw an Indian car throwing trash out of their windows as well as some Indian people setting up a picnic in the footpath. It is also super annoying when they want to talk to you but speak Hindi.

  2. Everyone isn’t biased and similarly everyone isn’t unbiased. Some people are racist and some are not. It’s just how the world is, we can’t control others. But we can be better individually

  3. My wife is an Indian and I am a Nepalese, she faces so much more hate and bad behaviour from people here in day to day life than I do in India. It’s completely unacceptable behaviour but they probably don’t use reddit much.

  4. Mistreating Indian tourists is of course wrong. We should not forget that India also provides bread and butter to the millions of Nepalese people, who are working in India as white-collar and blue-collar workers. Many of my friends work in India in a high-paying job in the IT sector. If we hate Indians who visit our country, our Nepalese brothers and sisters who are in India could also face similar behavior.

  5. I know we shouldn’t treat any toursit wrong but indians are shit. The first meet with a indian guy whi was a labmate of mine, he says “ Nepal is just like an indian state”. They don’t even respect out sovereignty.

  6. Nah, as someone with hospitality buisness Indians are most likely to mess up the rooms more, be rude to staff, start commotion, steal decorations and toiletries, even stain the walls than any other ethnic group of people by a hugee margin. Rn I’m in Canada living with bunch of em and damn it doesn’t get better. They’re condescending towards our diet, trynna push their culture into everything, treat us like we’re backwarded (even tho they’re from villages and I’m from ktm which is better than most of their cities). Even the stereotypes aren’t just jokes. Indian people, Indian houses and Indian stores have this pungent smell that you’d believe once u experience it urself. I’ve been to dozens of supermarkets in canada but an indian supermarket was the only one where i felt suffocated with the smell. Hell the aunties walk around wearing sooo much vicks that walking past them clears my nose

  7. Tbh everyone hates Indians everywhere. It’s a global thing. But that doesn’t mean I support discrimination against Indians. Personally speaking every Indian I’ve ever met are very very annoying or maybe I’ve been unlucky idk.

  8. i thought the same till i met some indians in canada and i share an apartment with them. sure, they’re generous with their food and stuff but they feel inferior to us in some way.. euta bhanai cha k “ mareko indian le jiudai nepali lai bechera khancha” i think that’s true. jattti miley ni chuttaucha iniharule. iniharu sanga jaile strategy huncha and god forbid they figure you speak their language… lol. yea it’s sort of justified

  9. This isnt just a nepali vs india issue, canadians haaaaate indians. Canada has a mix of many cultures. They get africans, mexicans, bri ish people, americans, phillipinos and more, and all these cultures INTIGRATE. They follow societal ruels, they learn and speak english., they treat the places and people with respect. But when indians move to canada they refuse to speak english, they refuse to follow societal rules, they refuse to intigrate. They will get themselves into management positions and then EXCLUSIVELY hire only indians while only speaking hindu in the work place till anyone else gets who only speaks english is forced/bullied to quit. Canadian town i live in? All but 2 restaurants are purely indian only now, no locals, some of these places i cant eat at either as they dont always speak any english. That and many more reasons to dislike indians. Just because its a different culture doesnt mean you should magically respect that culture. They are a nasty people, with nasty habits and nasty cultural aspects. People of Nepal recognize this and are tired of them litering, being rude and entitled, and just being a problem in general. Hat can be justified.

  10. 22M Indian here.

I have previously mentioned it and will say it again; the unjust practices and racist comments by Indian tourists are done by Bihari and UP folks. Now I understand they constitute a majority of Indian tourists in Nepal but that doesn’t portray the whole image of Indian’s behaviour. Not portraying racism bt it is what it is.

I am sorry for the same. You should see how NE and Southern tourists behave and you will get an idea 😊.

  11. It’s the behavior of Indians. I have met indians who are polite and well behaved. I even had class mates who were well behaved. Meanwhile, many are loud, arrogant, inagreeable, chutiya, disrespectful, perverts. They think they are better than the rest of the world,. Why do Indians even use pronoun “Tuh” to other ppl who are not even very close to them, disrespectful, in hindi there are respectful pronouns like “Tum”, “Aap”. In Nep we call each other Dai, Dd, Bhai, Baini with love and politeness. Ppl need to have morals, ethics and standards to get respect not only wealth. From my side no hatred towards indians but i wouldn’t be tolerating disrespect.

  12. This is a top-down level hate, the Indian politicians cause issues that makes the lives of Nepalis harder, and then they just start resenting india as a whole.

It’s not just Nepal and India, states in India hate each other too, only issue is they can’t differentiate between each other lol.

  13. I have never discriminated against the people or the tourists, but the country as a whole is another matter.

I didn’t have an opinion on India until the previous lockdown. I am not ashamed to admit that Nepal would fail without the contributions of India as many infrastructure is aided by India. Small things like repair shops to big institutes are made possible by Indians in Nepal.

What I really dislike is that big decisions tend to get really influenced by India regarding development and diplomatic relations among other countries.
Though I don’t follow such topics, I hear from time to time from relatives and peers about the indian influence and how india interferes with this and that.

This made my views align with the general dislike against india.
Am I wrong to dislike without knowing all the facts? Yes.
Do I celebrate India’s success? Yes.
    Do I dislike India? Yes
Does my dislike have any base? No

I don’t research about the good things, neither the bad things about India but where I stood, I have got plenty of reasons of disliking India mostly circling aound its influences on development and politics of Nepal, The lockdown and I have got tha perception that India is big on criminal activities since early childhood by CID and now due to scammers.

  14. I stayed at the hotel Akama couple of months back. At the breakfast buffet, a bunch of Indian tourists were berating the staffs for the consistency of butter was not to their liking. Halla nai gareko beesari. Staff aaera hamilai sorry sir.. k garne bhancha.

  15. I have already received some hate and I might will receive it today but being a Marwadi boy in my 20 years I have received a lot of harsh comments. And to be honest I have no ties with India; I am just a normal person who has some difficulty in speaking native Nepali as it is not my first language that’s it.

  16. I used to think Nepalese are the only good Neighbors India has but it seems things are changing due to unnecessary tension between two countries. I have many Napali friends living happily in India. They are really good people. I don’t know why this hate is increasing. Even in cricket Nepalese seem to be mad on the Indian side. I see regular online clashes between both the countries racially abusing each other.

  17. India is the most racist country in the world. Do you know how they treat Nepalis? Even rickshawwallas humiliate Nepalis in India. I am from border areas and there are 1000s of incidents where Nepalis have been beaten up or looted by Biharis (yadavs). Also, do you know how lalu yadavs men kidnapped and kill Newar traders in Terai until they were forced to flee Sarlahi, Siraha, Bara etc? Now those areas are dominated by Marwaris and yadavs. Also, have you seen how Nepalis are treate in Uttarakhand? You dont know how common is for Nepalis to get humiliated and physically assaulted in India. Most Nepalese only go to Nepal for University. But only the ones who go for employment know how awful it is.

  18. They should also treat us well. Seen many indian citizens misbehaving with Nepali in Nepal. There was an accident by indian tourist in Nepal driving a car. When locals came, they were like “Nepal is nothing in front of India. And blah blah shits. Also, Indians should learn to respect our language. Aru desh ko manxe aayo bhani at least they try to communicate with us in Nepali (basic Nepali) but Indians randomly come and communicate in Hindi which makes me feel like they dominating us in our own land.

Indians are hated for their behaviour. Nepal matra hoina, there are many countries which hate Indian tourists because of their behaviour.

  19. Hate ta dinu hudaina fokat tra Indian hru khassai kharcha grdaina Nepal ma ayera ultai eta tarai Tira sap thela eta uta bta paisa lutiracha nepali ko. Eta ko Manche ni Saman kinna jhn border pari jancha Astina euta Manche India border ma Saman kinna gako Indian hru le piteko news dekhirathey.

  20. Hate towards them is justified. I saw some tirtha yatris setting up their stuffs beside the road. They be cooking, washing clothes and eating besides the footpath and when it’s time to travel again they just go without cleaning up the area that they were staying. (I’ve seen some news where Indian citizens calling Nepal dirty but it’s them dirtying everywhere they go.) ( This always happens at the bank of The Bagmati river)

  21. First north indian citizens should stop treating Nepali people as “chota Bhai” , then we can start talking about “hate towards India is unjustified”.

  22. I guess the best we can do is keep an open mind about everybody, dont judge book by its cover… India is very v. large country with many states and cultures, theres bound to be some conflicts. We cant form prejudices based on just a few people.

  23. I always try not to hate Indian tourist but god the way they drive in our highways , they almost killed me twice , I haven’t faced similar situations before. They don’t care about any rules, they overtake anywhere they want , they always use high beams headlights .
