For All people looking for job try this (Part 2)

Wrote a post yesterday on the same, follow up from that one. This is specially for those looking to break into Software and Technology / SaaS space. I got a job in a US based company using this method. It is very easy for Nepalese to land jobs similar to a lot of people who land jobs living in Bangalore, Indonesia or Philippines but somehow we are not doing this. I have not come across one Nepali living in Nepal whoever told me about this. Later I met someone who lives in Hong Kong who does the same thing and is running their own company now and doing quite well.

Thought this needs to be shared so putting it here.

All the people who are looking for jobs, here is a tip that worked for me.

1. Know what role you want to get : No one wants to hire someone who doesn’t knows what they want to do. So first thing, you want to tell your employees what area you want to work on and why you are the best candidate for it. For example, if you are looking for a job in marketing you need to tell your employees why you are good at it but first know it yourself. Write it down if needed. It’s a little bit of effort but this will go a long way.
2. Go Beyond Your Circle: You need to be willing to break boundaries and dive outside your comfort zone. This means, stop going for traditional means such as applying through job portals or “free lancing websites” its super tough to land jobs from there and its too competitive. Learn to stand out. Number 3 will cover more on that.
3. Learn how to interrupt people’s days: You need to be comfortable with interrupting someone’s day to stand out. Meaning reach out to the person who is hiring directly and not through job portals. Yes this isn’t going to be easy since you will be putting a lot of effort into this, however this will build a lot of confidence in you.
4. Start Cold Emailing: This is a craft that you must master if you are looking to be a brilliant business man specially in the tech world. I have seen people raising million dollars in fund through a cold email and making thousands of dollars in revenue, sell startups through cold emailing. I do it myself too it’s a tool that is not to be underestimated. It’s not all just spay and pray either there is a way to do it like anything else and if you get good at it, trust me work will never be an issue for you.

You want to develop and focus on your sales skill set to sell your own skillset. Without that you won’t be able to make money or expand your network far and beyond. Yes, it will be tough and you might struggle at the beginning but once you have mastered this craft you will be able to sell anything. No matter what you do, this skill can take you a long way.

If you think I should write a part 3 happy to do that too.
