  1. As a leadership skills develop hoss vanera like in school ko captain jastai all they have to do is organised events, etc bhako bhaye ramro. Tara getting into political party is not good.

  2. Student politics is the worst thing that exists in the educational system. Few ‘failouts’ are ruining the whole system for their personal selfishness.

  3. Student Union ko advantages haru cha hola but hamro case ma chai advantage bhanda ni disadvantage cha. Inahru sab kunei na kuni party sanga affilated hunchan. Congress ko afnei Student Union cha, UML ko afnei cha. Student Union here is just a metaphor for grooming of future politicians. Kunei party ko rally cha, kei program cha bhane yesto bhid jamma garne, gunda gardi garne kam ho inharu ko. Result time ma na huda, exam time ma na huda, documents haru nikalna dukha huda, etc haru ma kaile kai matra bolchan. But, pertol ma 1rs bados, MCC ko kura aaos, kunei party ko Mahaadhiwesan hos, India ma kaseile kei bhanos, inharu suru mei sadak ma pugera police sanga lafda garna suru gari sakya hunchan.

Mero euta sathi ko sathi yei student union kei manche ho ani dude dosen’t even have to pay fees re. Sidhei exam dina aaucha, aru lai NQ lagla, attendence ko kura aaula but inharulai nothing. I was listening to Tri Chandra ko teacher talking in Twitter space once and he was saying kaile na dekhya student sidhei Exam ko din aapipugcha re, class bandha garna aaipugchan re.

Assignment na gare pani, NQ halde pani uta Administration ma sabei hataidinchan re. Asti TU ko ekjana teacher attack gareko ni yei union kei haru le ho. Bichara teacher aansan basnu parya thiyo inharu le garda justice ko lagi.

Khali talabandhi garna bahek k aaucha inharulai? Yesta dherei kura haru chan. Ramro kam ni garya holan but their na ramro kam outweighs those.

  4. Tyo bela chai need nai thyo, panchayat ko against ma, 2007 BS tira. Tara aile ta ghaado matra cha. Yesto jara gaadera baseko cha nepal ko major university, college haru ma, eradicate garne sambhawana nai dekhdina. Yo hataune bhanera kasaile kura uthayo bhane kati biwad aaula !!

  5. what are the students against at the moment? didn’t they bring the fee hike down to about 5.5 lakhs? i think that amount is fair enough for sustainability of ioe structure. We can just hope that they will increase the present infrastructure with respect to the increase in the fees. All in all, I do think that student politics is bad. I do acknowledge the need for a student body for communication of grievances but connecting those student bodies with political parties is bad for everyone. Also, appointment in important offices through political channel is why our organizations have not been able to run effectively. Ideally, I believe we should be able to separate politics and education.

  6. Student politics has a long radical tradition, of bringing about actual effectve change: Anti-Panchayat Movements, Jana Andolans, etc.

The problem is that this radicalism has been incorporated into the system, as now parties that were once the alternative, have a stranglehold over what new ideas are allowed to spring up.

In my view, there does need to be stricter regulations upon what Student Unions are allowed to do. I.e. stricter crackdown on violence, requiring all positions of power to be freely elected, explicit prohibition upon political affiliations for positions.

I think this rot is systematic and unlikely to change, unless there is a bigger, wider social movement across the country.

  7. Student politics get a lot of bad reputation, and rightly so. However, it is incredibly effective when it comes to addressing issues that affect the students directly (excessive fees for example). Compare engineering and medical colleges and there is a considerable difference in fee structures (I know a medical student who is paying Rs. 15000 per year for internet alone and hostel is compulsory. The Same internet is used by multiple students so the cost can’t possibly be that high).

Student political organizations give a voice to students which is important, especially in a country like ours where politics influences everything. Tara tyo teacher haru rajnitik niyukti hune chhai atti khattam ho and that should not be allowed to happen.

  8. Yes, Nepal needs student politics.

Hamro lagi student politics vaneko party ko Union matra bhayera ho. Prestigious universities ma pani student club hunxan. Tyo pani politics nai ho. Yesto wayiyaat party ko aad ma garni politics chayidaina.
