Today is my Birthday and I celebrated like this.

Today is my Birthday and I celebrated like this.

Today is my birthday, and I am grateful to have lived for more than two decades in this world. Last year, I celebrated by visiting Pasupati Nath in the early morning and gathering close friends for a heartfelt celebration.

However, this year, in the morning, I woke up early, expressing gratitude to my parents in the village, meditating, and reflecting on my past deeds. I thanked myself for the good and sought forgiveness for the bad, vowing not to repeat mistakes.

As the days pass, I find myself growing more mature and practical, with changing thoughts and a desire for a different kind of celebration.

This year, instead of my initial plan to donate money to Manavsewa Ashram, I decided it’s more meaningful to contribute to earthquake-hit Jajarkot, where the need is greater.

Early this morning, I pledged to donate to the Earthquake relief fund in Jajarkot. Despite being a financially dependent student, I scanned the QR code and contributed Rs. 2500, hoping it would make a small but meaningful impact.

Later in the morning, I went to TU and planted five saplings that I had brought from the Division Forest Office. Each sapling symbolized a commitment to a greener and healthier environment.

Subsequently, I headed to the Red Cross blood bank in Kalanki, where I donated blood on the occasion of my birthday, marking my first blood donation in life. Then, I promised to donate my blood on every birthday.

Resting after the blood donation, I share this post with the random Redditors of the Nepal subreddit, as I’ve distanced myself from mainstream social media. I hope my simple and meaningful celebration inspires positivity in others, encouraging them to rethink their approach to birthdays.

Thank you!
