I have listened to a few lectures about him and his quote “God is dead, and we have killed him” is about darwin’s evolutionary theory and he predicted this will have profound effect on western world.
But surely the metaphorical death of god’s consequences will not just be limited to christianity or the western philosophy how do you see this effecting Nepal’s society and its culture ?
I have seen the explanations for christianity but what about eastern ones ? buddhism , hinduism and shinto

Never heard the interpretation that God is Dead was about evolution since Nietzsche didn’t really like Darwin and thought that he was promoting a dangerous view of society. Nietzsche was referring to the growing atheism in Europe and how god was becoming less important in people’s lives. He laid the foundation for existentialism where the morals given by god are replaced by the morals and ethics chosen by the people themselves. While others were despairing that without god, society would become lawless and evil, Nietzsche argued that people would become more responsible and more in control of their own values.
My advice, don’t listen to random people taking about Nietzsche. There is a lot of bullshit interpretations out there. Read actual scholars or read Nietzsche himself. Thus Spake Zarathustra is very easy to read.
Every day, thousands of young youths lose hope in religion and God itself, even if some wanted to believe they wouldn’t be able to believe in it, because of how complex and explanatory the world is and the massive spread of knowledge. Slowly you see people losing belief in Hindu gods, bodhisattvas, and Buddhas cause of the acknowledgment of the meaninglessness of life itself, and even if there truly was a god life would still be meaningless. Nepalese society will completely be overhauled, the society will start being divided into three groups the “ubermensch”, ” the Untermensch ” and “the absurdist “. The ubermensch will be those in Nepali society who will continue to find meaning in life even though they know it has no meaning while being the creator self and trying to lead others to be a “new god”, ” the untermensch” or the herd is the majority who will still believe god and religion but there would be a subgroup of them who will be the followers of the “ubermensch”, the absurdist is the one who will always try to find the meaning of life even though they know it has no meaning but will not be a leader or a creator self, they will be their own master and slave.
NOTE: This explanation is solely not based on Nietzsche, it also mixes with Kierkegaard and Camus.
First time I’m hearing the quote being about evolution theory.
What’s the explanation about Christianity?
It simply doesn’t fit with vedic philosophy of Yug. God, according to sanatan, isn’t the almighty that stands above us and created us. It is the spirit of the universe in motion, its birth and death, all at once.
>how do you see this effecting Nepal’s society and its culture ?
“Effect on” is a material interpretation, sanatan doesn’t indulge in material interpretations.
He was talking about the erosion of religious beliefs because of modernism. He was spot on about this quote. Just look at the rise of porn websites and only fans people throwing all their morals for materialistic gains.
Watch Jordan Peterson to know more about Nietzsche’s writing.
Nietzsche saw the Buddha as one of the two great teachers of humankind alongside Christ. He saw the Buddha as the negation of the will to power and so as the antithesis of everything that he (Nietzsche) taught. He saw a lack of engagement in life found in eastern religions which explains their love of meditation and passivity.
To the extent that the countries associated with eastern religion are becoming westernised, Nietzsche’s criticisms no longer hold. Traditional eastern religion can be defended from those criticisms on the basis that there is plenty engagement with life, but not in a form which westerners always recognise. Or Nietzsche’s criticisms can be taken to be still valid.
A devout Hindu or Buddhism wouldn’t be bothered either way.
