Hami Nepal team and Nepal Army are doing a great job helping the victims. But they seem to be in dire need of tents, warm clothes, etc. My question is, how does all of this work? Who makes sure the funds are being put to use? Who keeps track of how much has been used and for what? What can be done to increase transparency? Anything we can do?
If you really want those answers, write an application addressed to “Information officer” in the Prime Minister’s office and/or National Information Commission.
Mention the subject “Request of details regarding XYZ on grounds of Right to Information Act, 2064”
Cite the act and the clause that allows you to exercise this. Ask your questions in a way there can be precise answers. (No open ended questions).
The office has to reply in 7 days with answers or the reason the answer cannot be provided. A fee may be charged (idk never heard anyone actually filing an application like this). If not answered, you have 35 days to file a petition to National Information Commission.
