900,000 people leave Kathmandu Valley for festivals

Approximately 900,000 people have left Kathmandu Valley for the festivals in the last month alone.

The Dashain, Tihar, and Chhath festivals are responsible for the massive migration of people. The Ghatasthapana (the first day of the 10-day Dashain celebration), which fell on October 7 this year, is considered the beginning point for most people departing the Valley. This figure is expected to climb in the future, according to transportation entrepreneurs.
