Punjabi rapper Sidhu Moose Wala was killed a day after security was removed.

, a Punjabi rapper, was shot dead in Mansa district on Sunday, a day after the state’s (AAP) withdrew security for 420 , including Moose Wala.

According to police officer Gobinder Singh, Moosewala, 28, and two were traveling in a jeep when they were shot at multiple times in Jawahar Ke village.

Moosewala was brought dead to the state-run hospital in Mansa, according to Dr. Ranjeet Rai. His are being treated for injuries at another hospital.

Sidhu Moose Wala ran for Mansa in the 2022 Assembly elections on a Congress ticket. Dr Vijay Singla of the Aam Aadmi Party defeated him.

Moose Wala, born Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, joined the Congress in November. According to the Indian Express, when the Congress gave him the ticket from the Mansa Assembly constituency, the sitting Mansa MLA, Nazar Singh Manshahia, revolted against the party.

“I am shocked and deeply saddened by Siddhu Moosewala’s heinous murder. Nobody involved will escape punishment. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and fans all over the . “I urge everyone to remain calm,” said Chief Minister , a member of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), in a tweet.

“I am deeply disturbed by the murder of Sidhu Moose Wala in broad daylight. Punjab and Punjabis around the world have lost a talented artist with mass appeal, who could feel the pulse of the people. “My heartfelt condolences to his loved ones and fans worldwide,” Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala said on .

Manjinder Singh Sirsa, a BJP leader, said the police should file a complaint against Chief Minister Mann for “negligence of chief ministerial duties.”

“We have been warning the Punjab Government to pay attention to the situation in Punjab.” I demand that a FIR be filed against for failing to perform his duties as Chief Minister, which resulted in the death of Sidhu Moosewala. “Bhagwant Mann and Arvind Kejriwal should be arrested,” Sirsa said of the AAP .

The rapper was chastised for allegedly promoting drug and gun culture through his music. According to PTI, he had a police complaint for allegedly promoting violence through his song “Sanju.”

He was arrested in Barnala under the Arms Act and the Disaster Management Act after photos on social showed him firing an AK-47 rifle at a firing range during a lockdown.

Hundreds of have had their police protection removed since the AAP took power in Punjab in March. According to the Indian Express, the first order was placed on March 12 and the most recent on May 28.

According to PTI, Punjab Police withdrew security provided to Moose Wala’s along with more than 420 people, including former MLAs, jathedars of two Takhts, Dera heads, and a few police officers.
