Seven nabbed in possession of narcotic drugs


SURUNGA, JHAPA: Police have nabbed seven people in possession of narcotic drugs – brown sugar and brown heroin – from different locations of Jhapa.

The arrestees have been identified as Arjun Shrestha (29) and Manish Khadka (18), residents of Mechinagar Municipality-2, Anish Bhandari (24) of Birtamod Municipality-6, Roshan Neupane (28) of Phiddim Municipality-1, Rameshwor Chaudhary (30) of Birtamod Municipality-6, and Prem Khadka (48) of Birtamod Municipality-3.

The arrestees were taken under control from the eastern border check point of Kakarvitta in Jhapa district. Jitendra Basnet, Deputy Superintendent of Police stated that they were arrested in possession of 50 ampoules each of diazepam, phenergan, and lupigesic along with the brown sugar and brown heroin.

Further investigation into the case is underway, according to police.
