UML not to appoint election losers as NA members


KATHMANDU: CPN-UML has decided not to appoint its candidates who had contested and lost in the local, provincial and federal elections, as National Assembly members.

A meeting of UML Central Secretariat held Friday made the decision to this effect.

Also, those members who were enlisted as the party’s Proportional Representation candidates will not get the opportunity to make to the National Assembly.

As per the decision of the meeting, only those who have had a long term affiliation with the party, are experts in various fields and have made significant contribution to various sectors while ideologically close to the party would be considered as appropriate candidates.
