Whenever I speak with someone face-to-face, I can barely make eye contact. I prefer looking at their sides rather than staring at their eyes. I think I have developed this character primarily because I get confused on ‘which eye to look at’ when having a conversation. There are **two eyes** to look at. Whenever I try to have an eye contact, I end up switching between their two eyes within a few seconds (milliseconds perhaps) and I feel like it creeps them out. I have been called out so many times for not paying attention to what they’re speaking and constantly playing with my eyeballs.
How do I get out of this dilemma regarding which eye to focus? How do I make eye contact?

I try to make eye contact sometimes but i feel like I’m falling in love with them 😭
In my case, it is all fine with close friends and family or complete strangers but talking with some acquaintance with eye contact triggers the fear of being judged, and boom I mess up the whole conversation altogether.
Playing with balls, of whichever kind, while talking to someone is always an awkward thing.
Looking the spot that shown in image helps you if you have to do eye contact with any one.

I use glasses just for this reason TwT I hate making eye contact too

It’s ok OP. Eye contact is a very intimate thing. I would suggest practice paying attention to the color of someone’s eyes. Try to notice details. Then slowly you can learn how to read someone by how they glare at you.

I used to have this problem too and I decided to force myself to maintain eye contact whenever possible. It worked, a little too well…
I used to be nervous and couldn’t make eye contact during my teenage years. But now after 5 years I can stare into their soul lol
Its pleasing for others if you make eye contact. It makes them feel you are engaged into the conversation. I know it can be overwhelming at the beginning to change habits of over thinking about eyes. Just simply look at them and simply keep the flow. Just don’t forget we all are same beings and no one is bigger than others so its okay to act yourself. Don’t take comments seriously. If they do, nod them saying there was a idiot who I met this morning told me the same thing 😛
